The inherent characteristics of LED determine that it is the most ideal light source to replace traditional light sources, and it has a wide range of applications.

Small volume LED is basically a very small chip encapsulated in epoxy resin, so it is very small and light.

Low power consumption: LEDs consume very little power, with a typical operating voltage of 2-3.6V. The working current is 0.02-0.03A. This means that it consumes no more than 0.1W of electricity.

Long service life: Under appropriate current and voltage, the service life of LED can reach 100000 hours.

High brightness and low heat output result in less thermal radiation than HID or incandescent lamps.

Environmentally friendly LEDs are made of non-toxic materials, unlike fluorescent lamps that contain mercury and can cause pollution. They can also be recycled and reused. Red light contains a large amount of arsenic (AS), which is highly toxic, durable, and completely encapsulated in epoxy resin. It is stronger than light bulbs and fluorescent tubes. There are no loose parts inside the lamp body, which makes the LED less prone to damage.

Strong controllability can achieve various color changes.

Characteristics of LED light source:

1. Voltage: LEDs use a low-voltage power supply with a supply voltage between 6-24V, which varies depending on the product. Therefore, it is a safer power supply than using a high-voltage power supply and is particularly suitable for public places.

2. Efficiency: Energy consumption is reduced by 80% compared to incandescent lamps with the same luminous efficiency.

3. Applicability: Very small, each unit LED chip is a 3-5mm square, so it can be prepared into various shapes of devices and is suitable for variable environments

4. Stability: 100000 hours, light decay is 50% of the initial value.

5. Corresponding time: The response time of incandescent lamps is in the millisecond range, while the response time of LED lamps is in the nanosecond range.

6. Environmental pollution: No harmful metal mercury.

7. Changing the current can change color, and light-emitting diodes can be easily modified chemically to adjust the band structure and bandgap of the material, achieving multi-color emission of red, yellow, green, blue, and orange. If the LED is red when the current is low, it can change to orange, yellow, and finally green as the current increases.

8. Price: LEDs are relatively expensive, and compared to incandescent bulbs, the price of a few LEDs can be equivalent to the price of one incandescent bulb. Typically, each set of signal lights requires 300-500 diodes.
